Tried posting this before in Aug and got no response and it’s starting to really annoy the wife

Have plex pass
Xbox one on plex 7.14.1.9954
Server on 1.15.4.994

Recording live tv rarely (but has a few times) gives us the option to watch from beginning and simply goes straight to tuning the channel

Any idea how to get it to offer watch from beginning consistently?

Start Watching Recording in Progress from Beginning(Failing)

I have been having issues with the Plex DVR and starting shows from the beginning while they are recording. Most of the time, it works properly, but about 30% of the time I will select “watch from start” and Plex will instead begin the show about an hour into the program (on a 3 hour show). I cannot rewind to the beginning, only to the point that Plex deems to be the “beginning” which is an hour into the show. Live TV and Time Shifting Issue?

I have pretty much the same issue. This started sometime in the past few weeks and at least a couple versions of PMS. I’m running a Windows 10 pc with a HD Homerun Extend and BETA PMS. The extend is on the latest April firmware. We record the local news and national news every weeknight. Most nights we’ll start watching one after it started recording. It is very discouraging to have this going on for so long. The Plex forums are a mess too. I see so many different postings about this issue when I perform a Forum search for “timeshift”. The forums are so fractured. It makes it difficult for customers to have a focused resource to voice their concerns about most issues. I guess that works for the Plex Team as it appears to dilute the attention to a serious issue. We can continue to include @elan and other Plex Team members in these postings but it doesn’t do any good. Plex had the advantage at the beginning but competitors like Emby have bested them in the Live TV and DVR functionality and responsive and informative support in well structured forum.
