Live TV error and chipmunk audio

I constantly get this error when watching live tv. “Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost. Please ensure the server is available and retry.” I have to go all the way out of Plex and come back in for live tv to work again. This doesn’t happen with recordings or any other playback. This happens on the Shield and I am running 1.9.3.4290. (Although, this has been happening for a while with earlier versions.

Also, sometimes the video slows down and the audio sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks.

I’m having the exact issues with same set up.what tuner are you using? I switched from an older hauppage duel that I got with my media center and I don’t recall seeing the error. I installed the newer quad tuner and now I’m seeing the error.

Any others having this issue?

I am using the HDHomerun Prime. Works fine with their app.

I’m also on the hdhomerun prime. I get the same audio glitches as bazinga09 too.Very frustrating as I want to ditch my comcast box in favor of plex but can’t until things work right.

This seems to happen only when viewing on the Nvidia shield. Web and the Pixel XL seem to be fine.

I had it happen on another android tv box so it may be just the android tv platform that has this issue.

I upgraded to the newest version today. Things are better but not perfect. The current experience is usable though. Sometimes during commercials, the feed locks up, then does chipmunk audio, freezes, chipmunk, etc. This has been only happening on commercials so not a major deal breaker for me but a tad annoying. This is on nvidia shield, hdhomerun, plex server hosted on dell r710 on server 2012r2.

Disabling the “Live Channels” app on the nvidia shield seems to have fixed the problem. It hasn’t done it all day since disabling it. Only time will tell.

Spoke too soon! Chipmunks are back! I have NOT received the message “Playback has stopped because the connection to the Plex Media Server has been lost. Please ensure the server is available and retry.” all day.
