When will Andoid recieve the live tv update? It’s been a while now and neither android or web interface have them…
It was in the beta patch notes for today so my guess is we need the 1.8 server software live and it should be there.
If you have a Plex Pass, and you are running PMS 1.7+, then Live TV works right now with the 6.3 beta release for Android mobile. Only time shifting will require 1.8+.
There is an existing thread (in the beta Android TV board) that is actively discussing the newest beta.

I wish I could get into the Android Beta program. Filled out the form almost two months ago and again two weeks ago with no joy…

Although I didn’t have to do anything, you might want to restart your phone and your PMS. For me, once the beta was installed and I clicked the menu icon, DVR & Live and Recording Schedule were displayed at the top of the menu.

Had some success.
Seems to be only available to the admin user.
Sometimes you may have to wait for 5-10 secs for the new menu items to appear.
Does not seem to like more than 1 android device connected as the admin user at any one time.
Worked pretty much straight away with Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (Although stream was choppy) - Android N.
Did not want to open any stream on my S5 - Android M.
Changed the Settings - Advanced - Player - Use External Player and playback is perfect in both devices.

I just got into the Plex for Android beta today. Live TV is super buggy. It crashes and refuses to play some channels.
HDHomerun Viewer works much better. I guess there is something to say about open source…
