Live TV: Local Server listed twice and "Error Loading Content" for Guide for one of them

When I go to “Live TV” with the 9.12.36630 beta, under Guide, I see my local server listed twice at the top where it should only be listed once. When clicking on the first of my listed (duplicate) local servers I don’t get the guide, and instead just “Error Loading Content” is shown where the guide should be. If I click to “Plex Channels” and click on the second (duplicate) listing of my local server, then the guide will populate.

Additionally, when I click on “What’s On”, “DVR Schedule”, or “Browse” then at the bottom of the screen a popup is presented that lists my local server twice (once again duplicates where there shouldn’t be). The functionality isn’t consistent:

  • For “What’s On” clicking on either of my (duplicate) local servers works.
  • For “DVR Schedule” clicking on the first duplicate of my local server doesn’t produce an error, but the schedule and recording priority are blank. Clicking on the second duplicate of my local server works as it should.
  • For “Browse” clicking on either of the (duplicate) local servers works.

If I clear the Plex app cache and data, and then sign in to the Plex app, then it will be ok for a few uses and then the duplicates come back. I’ve cleared app data and signed in again several times and so far this behavior has been consistent.

I think this may be a fringe use case. I posted the issue after it happened to me multiple times in a couple hours, but I have not seen the problem since. I was just able to recreate the issue, but only with some effort. Right now I think it is associated with when my phone switches wifi between my primary router and one of my APs and/or I use the Plex mobile app offline, but I can’t yet recreate the problem on demand.

My network is a single subnet, so I don’t fully understand yet why this would create a problem for the Plex app. I’ll continue to try to narrow it down and report back with any additional findings.

I am getting the same behavior on three different shield pro devices in my home. The Windows plex app seems to be fine as well as the web interface but the app on Android TV devices is consistently showing duplicates and “Error Loading Content”

I get the same issue on Nvidie Shield Pro and my Google TV.

I also have the same issue as well with the Plex for Android app. I’ve read somewhere where there’s an issue with Daylight Savings Time changing and throwing off the tv guide. I think the solution involved removing the tuner(s) from the Plex server and add them back. A true PITA each time the time changes. I’m trying to find that thread and will repost once I find it.

If you have multiple repeat Live TV guides and they’re grayed out except the working one you need to manage guide sources inside the app and uncheck the ones that don’t exist anymore.

I just noticed after updating my Plex server to 1.30.2.6563 (Latest Public Release) that this issue has been resolved!
