Guide/Lineup name: Broadcast TV Philadelphia OTA Broadcast
Using XMLTV?: NO
Channel number/Name:
OTA Channel 10.3 NBCLX is missing from EPG
OTA Channel 25.2 WPHY-D2 is missing from EPG
OTA Channel 44.3 WMCN.3 is missing from EPG
OTA Channel 44.4 WMCN.4 is missing from EPG
The EPG has now switched to a different provider and may help resolve your issue. To get it, you’ll need to delete your DVR and re-create it. If you have any recordings scheduled, you’ll want to make sure you write those down as they’ll need to be recreated.
Yes. I get 73 channels through the HD home run scan and also through Plex channel scan. I just don’t have anything to map those channels to as they are missing in the EPG.
If you are up to it, I’d suggest using zap2xml to fill in the gaps to make a custom XMLTV file. You may find it on archive.org for instructions and download.
Thanks, I have it downloaded and installed. Do you have to delete the scheduled recordings and add them back in when you change guides similar to the change from Tivo to Gracenote?
Correct, you will generate a xml file to manually add to your DVR when you set it up. You would need to enter the path to the file. If you set up a cron job (scheduled task), this could be automated. A little bit of work, but at least you don’t have to pay additional fees.
Zap2It is just as bad as gracenote in terms of missing channels. TV Guide is better but still has at least one missing channel.
TitanTV seems to be the best so far. I’m looking into using MC2XML to pull the listings but need to figure out how to get my UUID which seems near impossible so may have to give up on that idea.
It’s possible you may live in an area that gets OTA signals in different directions, however the EPG providers only give you access to one of them when you enter your zip code. You may have to combine the EPG data from a different zip code to get the desired results. Good luck.
These are all Philly area stations. What is interesting is that for my zip code, the EPG also picks up Allentown stations but not some Philly transmitted stations. Switching one zip code closer to Philly (East), the EPG has three of the missing Philly stations (but still includes the Allentown stations) which are far north of Philly. Very strange.
