Hi I have same problem. If I disable “new player” it start working… I use the last version on beta channel.

Live TV needs a bit more CPU than what you have. If you were lucky, you might get one stream going using PMP or Plex for Max/Windows which can direct play the mpeg2 stream. A browser is definitely out.

Turn off Verbose logging unless asked for.

Can not play live TV when new player is on. When channel is selectced screen shows background and spinner then eventually shows error. Error - An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app.

I have tried this numerous times with no joy. Also I Have 2 Shields (2017/2019) and both experience the same issue.

Having a look at this, it’s to do with DNS rebinding with, which we have an internal fix for, and should be in v7.31 (in beta soon). :slight_smile:

Thank you, I have the same issue, but since yesterday my issue disapeared. The new player works find with the Live TV.
But I have an another issue, the subtiles are activated while the option are desactivate… look my screenshot.

Yipiiiieeee! 7.31 has fixed the Nvidia Shield Android TV Live tuner issue with the new player. Now to optimize the performance… Thank you Plex Team

Hi, I am having the same issue on nvidia shield. disabling “new player” solves the issue.

Summary :-

Windows Plex client works fine.
Chrome browser clients work fine
Android app does NOT work (same error as shield) - but there is no way to disable the new player that I can see.
nVidia shield client app does NOT work with new player, . version 7.31.0.168802
nVidia shield client app DOES work with old player, . version 7.31.0.168802

All on my local network, some wired, some wifi
HD Homerun quattro
Plex Media server (1.18.5.2309) on synology NAS DS918+

Hi. I dont know how to do this. However, I did some more research on your forums and I found a solution that fixed everything for me on both shield and android phone…

disable “prevent dns rebind attacks” on my router.
