It has nothing to do with Linux TV. This is 100% a Plex issue.
When you use a modified xmltv that doesn’t report the end of a program, it no longer restarts. So it is unrelated to the contents of the stream or any drivers/codecs used to play the video or anything in the kernel. It’s simply a badly-functioning Plex feature that’s reacting wrongly to seeing the end of a program in the TV guide
I figured so much based on other people’s reports of this issue. Apparently, I finally got it to work as before by rolling back the server to the previous working version (1.19.4.2902) AND refreshing the Guide… twice. Thanks.

You’ll also notice that compounded with this issue, managed users can only watch live tv for 4-5 mins before the feed just closes.
HI Long time user of PLexTV, I have the same problem, I currently use PLex mostly for live TV, every hour I cringe… that I need to manually start the next program.
Win Version 1.20.0.1406-f47a81b7
Server 1.20.1.3252
OK, I tried to look for the older version of the server 1.19.4.2902, could not find it, however try to update, said I was upto date, howerver on the PLex Site it is version 1.20.2.3402 of Oct 2nd. I have installed it. waiting for the next hour to see if it is fixed.
Same issue watching on web (safari), Apple TV, and a Fire tv. At the TV show switch point, it starts back at the time the show was turned on. Have caught myself watching the same NFL/NASCAR over after nodding off in my recliner and not seeing the restart.
Currently, my Octopus stops streaming completely after a broadcast has been canceled due to an error or bug. Before the stream jumped at the beginning of the playback, now it breaks off completely. I know the Octopus is not officially supported, but before updating a certain version (unfortunately I don’t know which one) it worked wonderfully.
