Live TV: Some Channels Unwatchable

I signed up for a lifetime Plex pass about an hour ago, specifically to utilize the Live TV functionality remotely. I tested it pretty thoroughly with a one-month sub a couple months ago and had no problems, but of course I have problems now after doing the lifetime sub. :frowning:

I am using an HDHomeRun Connect tuner and every channel comes in 100% perfect through that, so I know the signal quality is good. But when watching channels remotely through the Plex app, or even watching them locally on the computer the Plex server is installed on, they buffer every few seconds when playing at Original Quality.

As a workaround I’ve been bumping things down to 2 Mbps 720p, but that only seems to work for channels that are broadcast in 1080p. Any that are broadcast in 720p flat out ignore the setting I select and always try to play in Original Quality and thus have the buffering problem. Is this a bug? And even aside from this, I have 100Mb up at the server and 400Mb down at the client, shouldn’t this be plenty to stream Original Quality?

Any ideas? Some setting I can adjust? It seems to happen regardless of Direct Play vs Transcoding. CPU and RAM usage on the server never really go above 50%. Can I tell Plex to just pass the HDHomeRun signal and not do any processing? The server is a Win10 computer and client is an Nvidia Shield TV, though as noted it’s even a problem when watching it through the web on the same computer the server is running on.

Bump. Are we allowed to bump? I hope so. :frowning:
