I have been having the same issues for months. Bought two Chromecast with Google TV back in November and have been disappointed with Plex live-TV. They have even broken live-TV on my Shield which used to work fine. I have at least 100 Mbits connection my server.
I’ve been following this issue for a while, but I can’t reproduce it.
The only difference I can see is both of my Chromecasts with Google TV are connected with the optional Ethernet adapter. (100 Mb/s Ethernet) https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_ethernet_adapter_gen_2
I am also using a HD Homerun Extend which transcodes in hardware.
Perhaps the Chromecast with Google TV has an issue with Wi-Fi?
Both of mine are connected via Ethernet and still have this issue with live TV.
However the HDHomerun unit I’m using does not do any transcoding.
I just bought Google TV + Ethernet connection as well to replace my existing Xiaomi MiBox which works fine just that I thought of changing it because Google TV dongle supports 4k The old Xiaomi MiBox don’t have any issues or problem running PLEX at all and could play everything flawlessly but with this new Google TV installed with Plex always lags. I have no idea what is the difference between the Google TV and the old Xiaomi MiBox that i have been using before.
When i run 4k Videos via Plex over ethernet the CPU usage is around 1%, bandwidth about 30mbps, memory usage about 2% usage.
Anyone know what is wrong with my Google TV setup?
Can you monitor the traffic through your router? I’m wondering if the Chromecast with Google TV is not connecting directly to the server, but instead being looped through the router. How to Use Secure Server Connections | Plex Support

I want to add myself to the list of folks having this problem. I just purchased a new Chromecast with Google TV. The audio cuts in and out only on some channels with live TV. It doesn’t happen with all channels or any other videos. I have changed every setting and I can’t seem to get it resolved. I don’t have any issues with Plex on mobile devices, PC, Mac, or Vizio TV. Just the new Chromecast. I really hope there is a solution to this issue.
This is defaulted to check (enable), should i disabled it?
I’d give it a try and see what happens.
This is an issue with the plex app for all android devices.
Any work arounds suggested, are just work arounds that don’t solve the actual issue.
I have also been encountering issues with Live TV & DVR for android for 6+ months.

Mods should close this thread and a few others like this and have all reports in the above thread as that’s the only one actively getting investigated by a Plex employee

@alienbiker99 That is a different issue. This thread is specific to the Google TV with CC device. Please provide the request logs in the appropriate thread for the device you have.
I am using GTVwCC
There are issues with Live TV & DVR on android devices, firetv & GTVwCC versus testing against a roku with the latest client.
Additionally my windows client is starting to have issues w/ Live TV & DVR which make this seem to be a server issue.
I have provided logs and & created a new topic a few days ago too:
I did not know Android logs needed to be pulled separately, and when I have a chance in couple hours Ill grab both logs for you.
I understand keeping things in the correct category, so please tell me where to report these Live TV & DVR issues that I have continuously had for almost a full year, when I can confirm I have no issues with my HDHomerun or when accessing the stream IPs directly.
I went ahead and closed that thread. Please repost both logs here. I need the full log package, not just snippets.
Please note that although the Fire TV is based on Android, it is modified by Amazon so the app does behave a little differently, which is why I like to keep those discussions separate. That thread had to deal with a specific issue on Fire TV devices.

I completely understand the technical difference between the platforms (programmer myself). Live TV & DVR issues got so bad with the firetv platform that I bought GTVwCC, but still encountered the same issues and feels like a waste of money.
If you are concerned with your data, you can PM the logs to me, but keep the discussion in this thread.
