Attaching 2x logs (added DEBUG).
Attached are two sets of logs where this fails. Iām using a Home user since Iām at home. Iāve tried using two different home user accounts, and the issue occurs regardless of the account.
Is this by chance happening more specifically 3-5 minutes after the program that was on when you started watching the channel?
Iāve been having that issue on my Shield but it does not appear to happen on the web app. As soon as the program ends the Live TV session errors out a few minutes later. This happens whether itās a 15 minute slot or a 3 our movie. Itāll play fine for the duration of the program then crap out a few minutes after itās air time ends.
Mine happens randomly, it can work for 5 minutes, it can work for 30. Right now, itās failing within 30 minutes. As a test, I setup channels DVR and jellyfin for live tv, using the same hdhomerun, installed in the same server. No issues, liveTV worked for 2 hours straight on both.
Itās a plex issue.
Is there a specific way to request support other than poating here?
I can also confirm the same issue. Does not seem to matter which client is being used, the live stream stops just after the end of the show that was being watched.
Seems to have started after upgrading server to 1.24.3.5033
if I use the HD homerun app to direct stream there is no break in the stream.
It is good that shows complete their recording, it is frustrating when watching liveTV
I have moved the transcode working directory to a location that has more than ample space (just in case) also changed the āminutes after endā just to see if this was related. I know it may not be much but hope it helps to narrow down where issue may be.
Unfortunately I am still experiencing the same issue.
if the certs are the issue? Is there anything that I need to do on my server in order to update these?
Thanks for your assistance.
Having the same issue as well. Using a fairly new Chromecast TV with a Synology DS920+ (DSM 7.0.1). Not sure whatās the issue, but when using the HDHomeRun android app the TV stream is fine. -Joel
I am having the same issue with Live TV stopping on my Fire TV as well as my Sony Android TV. I get a black Error box that says("Error. An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection). This usually happens about 3-5 min after the scheduled program ends. All I have to do go back to the guide, update the guide because it is still showing the previous hour scheduled program, and then select the current scheduled program and it plays fine until that program ends, and then 3-5 mins later the same error message occurs. Has there been any progress on fixing this problem?
same issue. Seems like the same regressions that I tried to report and provided logs for MONTHS ago, which resulted in ABSOLUTELY no reply or fix from ANY plex employee.
Live TV & DVR has been UNRELIABLE for well over 2 years now with no fix in sight.
Issues are definitely on server & client side. Itās clear as day with the amount of reports across this forum that Live TV & DVR currently implementation is FUBARād in so many ways across all server OS & all client devices.
The live Tv function worked well for about the past 4-5 months, then recently it started this shutting down business after the Programed schedule change as described above. I have heard nothing on the forum from any of the Plex staff regarding a fix or even that they are aware of the problem. Dead silence. It seems they have abandoned the Live TV subscribers. The ones who gave them their start and paid their subscriptions every month or maybe even paid for a lifetime subscription. I think they have seen a bigger revenue generating area in the Live streaming of movies and the gaming aspect. I have looked into Tablo are there any issues with it?
TV and DVR work great. The only item I donāt like is the remote viewing. You have to āpairā the device while on the same LAN before you can use it remote AND remote wonāt work with a Roku. I had to add a new Google TV for my parents who live in a place where they can get antenna TV. Stable, works, even the wife is using it!
What does it take for the Plex Techs to acknowledge they are aware and working on it. My over the air broadcast are still shutting down about 3 minutes after the guide changes programs. If it comes on the half hour and there is no program change it works fine. I have included a video of the error happening. It comes like clock work every guide program change. You would think something that happens consistently like clock work would be easy to locate and fix. Also included my logs for that same time period. Plex techs please respond and see if you can fix problem it is very annoying and Iam getting tired of hearing my wife complain about it.
Well⦠I decided to switch back to my original PMS on an Intel I3 NUC (which was working well when decommissioned) and have the same issue. So I feel itās not the PMS but the Android TV app. For the short term I have been using the HDHomeRun app (interface sux) and it works fine⦠-Joel
Iāve been encountering this issue for quite some time as well. I agree with @JoelsPC, I donāt think this is a PMS issue, but rather a client issue.
Hereās my use-case, where I experience this issue primarily. I pull up the Guide and select an NFL game to watch. The game streams from one of my HDHomeRun Extend tuners just fine. Then, roughly a few minutes after the program is scheduled to end in the Guide, but the game is running long, my client presents the error.
It seems as if the client isnāt simply allowing the stream to continue beyond when the Guide shows it is scheduled to end.
This use-case is consistent across any of the clients Iāve used (Google TV, Shield TV, Web).
