Load collections tags from file (nfo) next to movie file

I’ve recently had to reinstall everything on my server including Plex. This means I’ve lost all the collection data that I manually filled in. The movie poster and background are in the folder next to the movie and these are loaded again automatically but all my collections are gone. Is it possible to have some sort of nfo file with metadata in that Plex can read and load like poster and background? I’d also use it to set the movie title as this tends to change sometimes to from what I want it to be.

the only thing that Plex can read currently from an NFO file is the IMDB ID tt1234567

There is a third party agent that can be used to load NFO files in to Plex.
for movies XBMCnfoMoviesImporter
for shows XBMCnfoTVImporter

the NFO file must be in the format that XMBC could load…
search Plex forums on where to get them…

You can get them to load collection names with the movies but not anything else.
