Local LAN streaming no longer works...kinda

Server Version#: 4.84.1
Player Version#: Not sure…current Android TV version.

Just noticed recently that Plex no longer functions on my Shield TV when there is no WAN access. I have the LAN IP ranges in the server settings, it used to work, it works on my laptop…it just doesn’t work on my Shield TV anymore…which is annoying as it’s what runs the TV.

Is this a bug or is there some setting I need to enable or something? This is literally what I set this Plex server up for…to be able to watch stuff when the Internet is down. Used to be able to…can on my laptop…can’t on the one device I need it. Pretty annoying.

I’ve seen far too many posts regarding “can’t connect to Plex with no internet”, and an uprising/outcry always ensues. It eventually settles down, but the lack of single point resources can be frustrating. Yea, nope. Still doing this nonsense. Makes no sense. Isn’t this the point of Plex?..

Had the network go down for a bit tonight due to weather and was met by this. I don’t get it.
