Looking for a local (So FL) Plex Expert to troubleshoot an issue I am having - Boca Raton, FL

Looking to hire a local IT person who can help me with Plex Issue. “Please check that this file exists and the necessary drive is mounted”

I live in Boca Raton FL. Thanks - john@gentile.pro

This message shows up if Plex server cannot find the media file in the same place, where it was originally stored when it was added to the Plex library.

Common reasons for this happening are

  • the file has been deleted
  • the file has been moved
  • the file or its folder has been renamed
  • the hard drive where it resided on has a different drive letter (usually happens with externally connected hard drives, if their drive letters haven’t been manually assigned)
  • the NAS device where it resided on has gotten a different host name, or IP address

To find out, open the plex media info of the affected item.
At the very top is the drive letter, folder names, and file name where Plex is expecting to find the media file.
Use Windows file explorer to find out whether the file is still there, has changed its name or folder name, or now resides on a different drive letter or NAS device.

Is there any possibility of walking me through the steps of correcting my issue over the phone? It is unfortunate that Plex doesn’t offer this service. I would pay for a support call if I could get this issue resolved. I am not that computer savy. Thanks - john@gentile.pro

Sorry, I don’t do that kind of thing.
I just figured I’ll give you the generic instructions since this kind of thing is relatively simple, so you have a chance of fixing it by yourself.
