I have plex media server installed on a Windows 10 laptop and also on a Amazon 4K firestick.
This has worked fine for weeks. In the last few days after not using for a while the laptop media server was not found. I have managed to restore access and all my libraries appear intact.
The actual files are stored on a 2TB drive which is mounted and any files playback locally using PC media playback software and the folders can be mounted in Windows Media player.
If I try and play back locally I get the following error,
Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted. They do and it the content is labelled correctly with suitable thumbnail images,
I get the same error when trying to stream the file to the 4K filestick.
Is this a result of the recent update ? If so how do i revert to the previous version that worked flawlessly,
Is this 2 TB Drive connected to the notebook as an external drive (e.g. via USB) or as a network drive? Can you confirm it’s mounted as the same drive letter that your library is looking for?
Hi thanks for the quick reply. It’s a 2TB USB connected drive (NTFS) mounted as drive G:. It’s the same drive letter as always. Sorry to be a but dim, how can I tell which location plex is looking for the video files
