Hey all im currently looking to purchase the Pi 3 Just for Rasplex PHT. Usinmg PHT on my windows 7 HTPC me and the mrs love it. Now would the Pi 3 play large 1080p remuxed files say over 20gig to 30gig size files or would it be a waste of time buying it for this reason if they play fine then great. We have a Samsung H6400 tv and we was using the App it direct played DTS and Dolby digital fine but not higher HD audio so it had to transcode to Dolby Digital. So looking at the Pi 3 to direct play without having to transcode even tho our HTPC is powerful enough to do this i dont want to lose video Quality. Our Soundbase is Stereo only is a Canton DM 55 but it sounds Fantastic for movies and music
My Pi2 copes with 1080 remuxes with no problem so I’d hope the Pi3 does too
