Looney Tunes on Plex

Server Version#: 1.28.0.5998
Player Version#: Fire TV Cube latest version
I have some Looney Tunes cartoons on Plex. These are on my QNAP NAS in a folder called “Looney Tunes” (appropriately enough!). The folder has been declared a “movies” folder because I want it to pick up the naming conventions under Movies in Plex, based on what I read to do in another thread many moons ago.
This works as the cartoons are shown in the Looney Tunes folder on the Plex client with the correct title and artwork. The problem is that the cartoons are also shown in the “Movies” folder, which is not what I want. The cartoons are just cluttering up the Movies folder.
I tried right-clicking on the three dots on the version in the Movies folder and choosing “delete,” but this appears to delete the file entirely from the server. All I really want is for the cartoon files in the Looney Tunes folder NOT to show up under Movies.
What can I do to make this happen? If I have to delete all the files and start over, I will, but I would prefer some way to just remove each cartoon from showing up in the Movies folder. Thanks!

Put them in a TV library. The full list is on thetvdb
https://thetvdb.com/series/looney-tunes

Looney Tunes/
Season 1942/
Looney Tunes - S1942E01 - Hop Skip and a Chump
Looney Tunes - S1942E02 - Porky’s Pastry Pirates
Looney Tunes - S1942E03 - The Bird Came C.O.D

It could be caused by having the “Looney Tunes” folder under the same folder as your other “Movies”. The scanner will pick up everything under the “root” folder for a library.
If that is the case, you could move the “Looney Tunes” folder outside of the "root’ folder or try using the .ignore file under the “root” folder.

No, the ONLY way I can get mine to show up it to force theTVDB agent in the Advanced library options.

M:\Plex\TV\Looney Tunes (1930) - {tvdb-72514}\Looney Tunes (1945) - {tvdb-72514}\Looney Tunes S1945E03

As a sample file name and location and with the standard scanner all the meta for episodes disappears - gone. I have had it working for years and it always picks some other series at first, so I fix match and find the correct one and usually all is well but I had some issues after an OS upgrade and rebuilt my server PC a couple days ago and since then even when I fix the match it reverts to the wrong series as soon as I enable the Plex TV Series agent.

It appears there is a problem with the thetvdb integration in the scanner but every one is busy putting out the dumpster :fire: after the data breach.

You still don’t seem to have a folder for the series as a whole.

Looney Tunes - S1942E02 - Porky’s Pastry Pirates

There is no TV series called Looney Tunes (1930) as far as I can see since the series started in 1929. Just call it Looney Tunes.
then “Season 1945” instead of “Looney Tunes (1945) - {tvdb-72514}” , then “Looney Tunes - S1945E03 - Draftee Daffy”. works like a champ. Just using the standard PLEX TV SERIES agent and scanner. There is nothing special about that library and it has worked perfectly since I created it years ago.

According to TVDB the first air date is April 19, 1930 which is why the (1930) comment was made. I dont follow the Plex naming schema exactly, but mine does populate. I do use the modern agent in order to use the tvdb-ID tag in the folder name.

This is how i have mine setup and it matches just fine…

Looney Tunes/
Season 1942/
Looney Tunes - S1942E01 - Hop Skip and a Chump
Season 1943/
Season 1944/

I leave out the (1930) in the TV Show name and a select few other TV Shows as it messes up the matching with TVDB agent

They only have one from 1929.
Looney Tunes - S1929E01 - Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid

I’ve got mine named the same way, using the TVDB agent.

To get them to name properly, go to the show (Looney Tunes) Edit Library - Advanced - Change episode ordering to THETVDB (Aired) or THETVDB (Absolute). The scanner will not pull up episode data without this set.

Then you can use the Plex Agent for the TV Library again.
