Losing manually entered Tags

Hi,

I have the following problem:

I have a section on my plex called „Hörspiele“ (Radio Plays with lots of different genres, series, …). When adding a new story to a series all information of the previous issues are lost (Cover, Contents, Genre Assignments etc.) even though every possible Lock-Symbol was activated. So, today I added story 54 and the information about the series and almost all tags of the previous stories were gone. The restoring of all the tags would cost me about two hours… What I’ve noticed: In the Plex Dash - App the last thing that was shows when updating the media library was: „X“ (and I’m pretty sure I saw that the last time it happed as well).

Is there any way to restore that information or at least a way avoiding this issue the next time?

Check if you have empty trash after scan enabled. If so disable this.

Use a file format from which Plex can read embedded meta tags.
Add posters as external jpg files.
i.e. restrict your manual editing within Plex to only those metadata items which cannot be delivered by embedded meta tags.
