After adding a movie to my collection and scanning for library files so Plex would detect it, I noticed my recently added files disappeared and then slowly started filling up in a completely random order. Now I’ve lost all custom metadata such as cover and background files and whether a movie is a part of a collection. All the collections still exist, they are just empty and the movies in that collection have no tags and are just sitting in my library.
I restarted the server, restarted the PC hosting the server, to no avail.
Just to make things a little more confusing, not all titles reset their metadata. I’ve changed every poster, and it’s the last one in the list (because I upload it). Most movies reset to the first choice in the list, but some have my choice and background still set.
