I can confirm that this issue is also present on version 1.24.5.5173 using TVbutler Tuner in Denmark.
Rescan does nothing. At the bottom there is a message: We need some more information before proceeding with the channel scan. right under that messages there are a textbox but no info given and no drop-down menu
Same issue here, DVB-C Netherlands. I sent log files to a Plex employee. Found 361 channels but only showing 42. Had all channels on a previous version but I didn’t touch my DVR setup in a long time (last succesful scan was v1.22.0.4163). Currently running stable branch v1.25.1.5286.
Tuner: Hauppauge WinTV Dual-HD
System: Arch Linux (bare, e.g. no Docker).
PMS: v1.25.1.5286

Quick update, last month I worked with a Plex team member to retrieve some more info + logs and everything was forwarded to the server development team. With the holiday period I don’t think much has happened yet but as soon as I hear something I’ll let you know.
Temporary solution, working for me:
Rolled back to version v1.22.3.4523 which worked, all channels found. After updating back to the latest stable, the channels are still there but obviously this isn’t a solution. At least for me no longer a problem right now.
How did you rollback to older versions of Plex?
Running Plex bare on Arch Linux, so I could simply download the package from history (https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/commit/?h=plex-media-server&id=72e1814321e45a592b840abbaa714485b863811a) and manually run the PKGBUILD.
Just download the older version and install/overwrite (you won’t loose any data between this version and the latest version). Most Linux package managers support rollback to older version and on Windows you simply run the older installer. Let me know on what system you are running Plex and I can help if needed.

A fix for a cause of this problem has been released in Plex Media Server beta release 1.26.1.5762
- (DVR) Plex Tuner Service does not return non-unicode encoded channels (#13374)
- (DVR) Plex Tuner Service only returns a small number of channels (#13261)
Still not working, We had some significant rearrangement of channels in the DFW TX market and I can’t get a rescan to work on any of my Hauppauge QuadPCI cards. which show up as 4 pairs of tuners. I even downloaded and updated to the newest drivers from the Hauppauge site. Channel scanning has been broken for a LONG LONG time. Basically since the UI change.
Maybe you should open a new case.
Yes, channel scan was broken for a long time but as I know it’s fixed since a few weeks.
I’ve just tested the re-scan.
For me still works fine.

If nothing has changed with your broadcast stations and/or guide you’d never know “it worked” because it goes through the motions and then changes nothing in the setup. I had to once again delete all my tuners … and begin from scratch. What a nightmare with 8 tuners.
I don’t go any deeper with these reports anymore because I’m still waiting for some of the basic time shifting stuff that STILL doesn’t work after all these years.
Reported and posted logs many times but nothing. Easy scenario too. I use ROKUs. Have one device tune in to an OTA station at say 9PM on a show marked for recording. Leave that device tuned in. Have a separate device on a different TV tune in at say 10:45 to the same station for another show marked for recording. Choose “Start from beginning”. Second user gets put back to the time the first user began watching and has to manually advance through the buffer to get to the beginning of the desired program. It’s as though they don’t know how to manage the record buffer per device.
Worse yet, if the second user “flips stations and comes back” the process must be repeated. Other basic DVR things don’t work either and have remained broken since day 1. All it takes is ONE USER to claim something works and they move on without fixing. All testing is apparrently done as unit test, no actual use scenarios.
I see this most EVERY night as my wife goes to bed before me, watches one of her shows and falls asleep and then then I tune in later in the Family Room to watch something THIS is what I have to do. NO, I won’t post logs. It’s easy enough for them to replicate this if they wanted to actually fix it. Besides, I’ve posted logs in the past and nothing was fixed.
It’s REALLY annoying during football season when I’ve got multiple TVs recording multiple games. Any attempt to flip stations on any given set means you have to FF through the record buffer when you return to a game. That’s why I rely on other service now.
My final straw was when they closed the DVR issues thread that had been going on for years chronicling the things that didn’t work. Guess the age of the thread just highlighted how many things never properly functioned.
THANKS anyway!
