Lost Remote Access

Server Version#: 1.18.6.2350
Player Version#: Windows
I have been using this plex server for 2 years with no issues, but just recently I am unable to access for content from outside my network. After investigating I can see that the Remote Access Icon is Red and the Service is stating " Not available outside your network".

I have tried to add Port Forwarding onto my nighthawk Router but this does not help. I have absolutly no idea why this has happened as i have not changed anything.

I run a WD My Cloud Home device which has the plex server built in.

I have a Nighthawk Router with DHCP managing my IP Addresses. The IP of the server has never changed.

I have tried to manually forward port 32400 on both TCP and UDP I have also checked the UPNP is enabled.

I seem to have followed all the guidelines from Plex but nothing works.

I am a Plex Premium subscriber but will have to cancel this if this is not resolved.

Can anyone out there assist me, I am totally confused by this sudden loss of service.

There is a known issue with the WD My Cloud Home device. There are several threads about it.
Something has broken with the security certificate on the device. We do not have a fix at this time.

  • a workaround for now is to turn off secured connections on your server

… the media server can be accessed both remotely and on a LAN. At any given time, it may be accessible via multiple addresses. Certificates are generally associated with a small set of unchanging IP addresses. So we’ve worked some DNS magic to remove that limitation, and make things Just Work.

Or not.
