Server Version#: Synology DSM 7.0 - 1.25.2.5319-7000
Player Version#:
Hi - weird issue - Plex was working fine circa one week ago. Tried to use over the weekend and apps / web interface is not seeing the server anymore - i.e. I’m just seeing basic web interface (none of my libraries) with ask to “get” Plex Media Server. Setup is Synology DS916+ running DSM 7.0 - previous 6.0 to 7.0 migration successful with no issues). Have checked internal user permissions in DSM 7.0 and all seems ok.
Strangely, before this occured, I thought I saw an email the other day notifying me of a new login to Plex that I didn’t recognise so changed password etc. but now can’t find email in question - not sure if I’m losing my mind!
I’m not aware of any updates to either Plex or DSM that have occurred between it working and it not working - I’ve just installed a new update on DSM to see if that freed it up but no luck.
If you opted to sign-out all clients while changing your password, you need to reclaim your server. I suppose the most straight-forward approach for that is this:
Try connecting directly to the Plex Server, using the IP address of the NAS.
Use a private/incognito browser window to bypass ad blockers, cookie blockers, etc.
http://syno_ip_address:32400/web ← use real IP address of the NAS.
You must be using a system on the same network as the NAS. Do not connect via Synology Quick Connect, a remote connection, VPN, etc. PMS will consider you are remote and the process will fail.
If it does not work, then use the process @tom80H mentions from the FAQ. It is very straightforward. Your settings, etc are preserved.
I changed my Plex password last week. I was able to re-claim my server without the uninstall/re-install.
