since morning i dont see my server anymore on plex even after restarting the service… the files are still there but nothing … cannot even claim i have no button it’s like big nothing .
Hey @ChuckPa - can you give me a good reason why we loose access to our PMS , from a simple password change ?? I see many other threads with same issue , changing passwords because of dataleak
The server is linked to your account, like any other Plex app.
There’s a checkbox when changing/resetting your password to sign out all devices (which is recommended). With that, all clients will be signed out… and your server. So you’ll need to sign it back in.
The original forum announcement has since been updated to mention this. It’s also mentioned in the related support articles.
hi Tom. You dont get it …. when signing back in, the server is no longer available.
It is bad code on a software , that one has to delete the server, re-install the server , and claim a token, in order to reclaim your server , all from a simple change of password.
which is stupid as it cause a lot of problems every time this change password due to out lack of security happens.
IF it was a simple click a link or eve better the stupid “server” claims to token automatically if it missing. Or the best solution: 100% Local servers with optional connection to Plex servers. The this token bs would be history.
