My Google Home Mini isn’t showing up in the cast screen, from MacOS. Do I need to do something?

Same for the Windows Plexamp app. Both my Google Nest Mini and my ShieldTV do not show. Only my computer and my Sonos Connect show under the cast button. The Android Plexamp app works fine and shows me all my Cast devices.

Bug report I guess.

My device list was limited initially and only showed 1 out of 3 devices. Restarting my phone brought them all up on next try.

Really excited about the chromecast support. Have been enjoying it all afternoon. One issue I found wanted to bring up. The casting bombs when casting to Plex for Roku. It will play the first song on the Roku but then stops after the first song in the playlist. The playlist also doesn’t show on screen of the Android mobile I’m casting from to the Roku. Other than this, I am now officially a user of Plexamp. Thanks for making an app geared to us who use plex for music.

Same here. Android is working fine (Note 10+) but the Windows version doesn’t show any of my Chromecast devices. Other apps on my computer do see them. I’m really glad to be able to use it on my phone. This is becoming my go-to music app.

their solution for desktops is “use chrome” :sweat_smile: there are some hacks and such, but nothing official, nor likely to be.

on macOS, at least, given that iOS apps will run on there at the end of the year on Apple Silicon, that’ll start working.

Should it be possible to cast to Plexamp on Windows? I am not seeing it advertising itself as a player after the update and I miss this feature from Plexamp v1. In my case I use the android app as a remote and can take advantage of the gapless playback in Plexamp.

Nevermind, see there was a update to Plexamp released today for Apple. Casting now works with version 3.2.0.

I’m running 3.2 on Android and the cast starts (Chromecast beeps), but never actually transfers the playback to the Chromecast devices. Anyone got some troubleshooting steps?

Having the same exact problem. Didn’t take long for casting to get broken…

EDIT: Plexamp will not “lock” onto the CCA device, but If I open Google Play Music browser page I can see it’s was selected. IE the chrome browser thinks it’s being cast too…

Please open separate threads for casting issues, with details, steps to reproduce, and debug logs from Plexamp collected right after the issue.

That attitude is not super helpful, sir. We’re trying to help.

My apologies, you are correct not helpful at all. I know you guys are working hard on this app and it is MUCH appreciated.

Unfortunately, out of my frustration at the time, I did some “self help” and got it working.

For future reference.

  1. I rebooted the LG G8 – Problem Persisted
  2. Cleared app data settings – Problem Persisted
  3. Cleared app cache settings – problem fix.

Next problem I’ll be sure to start a new thread and attach logs.
