Make directors' and actors' names clickable

Please, improve browsing quality of life in some (all?) of your clients. I’m mainly using nvidia shield and android mobile, so I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere, but I’d really love to be able to just highlight/click on a director’s name to see a list of all of their movies. Same for actors. This is already possible in Win desktop app, so the database structure should already be there.

Often when deciding what to watch I browse through descriptions, only for a name to catch my eye. Then, when I want to see what else is available, I have to go back and use the search function (and typing names with a shield remote sucks almost as much as trying to pronounce names - especially foreign names - in a way that voice search understands me correctly).

It would be great to be able to follow a path of association like this when browsing for what to watch.

Thanks for listening - have a great weekend everyone!

I also miss this feature. all the more because I know it from other platforms and I really enjoy choosing a film like this

I guess there is very little following of this thread. Only 14 votes. :pensive:

This feature works on Apple TV’s Plex but not on Android, specifically same as here with my NVidia Shield. Why?

Take my upvote, got my Nvidia Shield Pro a couple of days ago and it’s kind of boring me that you haven have the clicking animation but nothing after… it’s… painful!

This has been requested multiple times on different forums. I read somewhere that this used to be available. I also know that the devs are aware of this issue but they choose not to do anything about it. Any kind of reply from a plex developer would be nice. But as far as I know, they never reply to this request.

This is ridiculous. I just bought a brand new Sony 75" with Google tv and the plex client doesn’t have the feature where you can click on the actor? I thought I was going nuts until I found this thinking something was wrong! I move away from my HTPC running Kodi Plex addon to brand new smart tv with latest plex from Playstore and find out it doesn’t have one of the basic features I’ve had in KODI for years. FIX THIS PLEX. I am a Plex pass lifetime subscriber and this feature should be basic and in every Plex client!! STOP IGNORING YOUR USERS. Plex DEV’s please give us a good reason that this implemented or does not work on the Android client. I’ve also upvoted the feature request link above. Thanks.

The feature was there on Android over a year ago, not sure when it disappeared

This feature works on the WebOS client, ffs. I mean talk about not having feature parity between versions. What are there, like 5 WebOS users, but the Android client seems to get no love.

+1, Got curious as wasn’t able to click on Android devices which also affected FireTV.
Please developers make it a priority.

This feature would be an amazing add to the client

I think all Android TV devices suffer from this bug. It is available on almost all other devices

Yes please (Fire TV)

I had previously used a Roku TV where this was an option, but it’s not on my new Android TV. Adding this feature would be great!

Has it been an explanation why this feature is not working on Android TV?
Please…!

This would be awesome. Please do this

I am also really hoping to see this. I don’t know why it isn’t available on the Android client, since other clients already have this functionality
