Hi All,

Thank you in advance, I have recently made quite a few changes moving my plex server from synology ds920+ to serve from a Mac mini, everything is now working well BUT after all the changes it I now have no friends with access, when I go add them back in I see this.

I cant figure out what to do for the life of me.

First time posting here, but if you all need any more information let me know.

Have you moved the Preferences.xml file?
If I remember correctly the XML file holds the access token your friends accounts need to access the medias on your server.

i did remove and rebuild (needed too).

DSM version? 6.x or 7.x

  1. Settings → server_name → General.
    Is the server claimed?
    It should display “Server claimed by your_email_address”
    If the server is not claimed, then claim it.

  2. Authorized Devices: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms
    Delete any old, unnecessary servers.

  3. Stop Plex. Wait 30 seconds. Start Plex. Wait 2 - 3 minutes for Plex to fully start.

  4. Login via https://app.plex.tv/desktop/ and see if you can share libraries.

All the people to whom you had granted access before should already be listed in https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/manage-library-access
Which means you don’t need to extend new invitations to them.
What you rather need to do is to click on every user name on that page, then “edit” their access permissions on the first (“Libraries”) tab. This should show the libraries of your old server and those of your new server. Fill and clear all those check boxes.

(If there are no check boxes for the libraries on your new server yet, let the new server run for a few hours. Then stop and restart it. Then refresh the Plex web app in your web browser and try again to edit the access permissions of your users.)

Hi Ford Guy,

Wanted to give you an update.

I did restart the docker as you mentioned, but also I changed the server name by one digit and I reverted it back.

I have had to add people back in but other than that it is working.

Thank you for your time, I think you definitely got me on the right track to finding the solution.
