Managed user restrictions using labels not working?

Hi all,

I’d like to use managed-users to set up a kid-friendly view of my plex library for my kids. Specifically I’d like them to only see the movies that I have labeled as kid-safe.

I set up a managed user for them and under Restrictions set Labels to “Kid Safe”. I then tagged a bunch of movies with this “Kid Safe” label but when I switch the user to their user I do not see any movies, the library appears empty.

If I use ratings to restrict what they can see that seems to work but that isn’t sufficient, there are some PG movies I do not want visible to them.

Has anyone gotten label-based restrictions to work for a managed user? Any ideas?

Do you have any other labels or restrictions set up for them? I just tried and it seems to be working as intended

I do not, no. I created a new managed user and only set the Labels restriction under Movies:

On the movies I want them to see I have the metadata like this:

Am I missing something?

you added it to “collections”

labels is under “sharing”

Oops, I didn’t realize “Labels” was only a specific metadata field, I thought the labels under Restrictions applied to any metadata label.

But yes, it appears to be working now. Thanks!
