So I read the Plex Announcement about scheduled maintenance from 10/17 - 10/18. So I decided to delete my dvr and add it back, after that i get only a few thumbnails for random shows in the Live TV & DVR guide. Im running Plex in a docker container on linux and an HDHomerun Prime, Comcast is my cable provider.
I’m seeing the same on a “standard” NAS install. I have about 15-20% posters showing now. Note, this also affects my entire recordings library. In some of my recordings libraries I’m now missing quite a lot of the posters. Why are library posters linked at all to the epg source?
I am seeing the same thing on my Windows 10 install. I’ve got about 20% of the thumbnails, and all of my scheduled DVR series are missing thumbnails. Hopefully it is a quick fix to get them working again.
Same, refreshed and nothing changed, still missing most thumbnails for shows in my guide. This was not a problem for me when Plex was using gracenote. I and the few people that have replied to this topic certainly can’t be the only people seeing this problem.
So I deleted the DVR also, removed the cache manually from my server, recreated the DVR and still only have thumbnails in the epg for maybe 10% of the shows. I monitored the logs bug nothing stood out to me, I’m not Plex developer though, just a user.
I’m having the same issue. Posters for live TV shows have been slowly disappearing (I’m assuming as they age out). Only 10-20% of them are showing now. However, they are fine once they show up in the recorded library.
Synology DS-218+, version 1.18.1.1973 (but has been happening on the past several public releases)
I enabled “Enhanced Guide” in the DVR Settings then did a guide refresh and more thumbnails/posters starting showing up but certainly not all of them (not sure if there is any correlation there). I do find it strange that I sometimes get posters for obscure shows and not mainstream shows.
I would like an update on this as well. Like a few others reporting in this thread, this issue seems to be getting worse.
I’m currently using Version 1.18.1.1973 on Windows 10, but the issue has been going on over the past few updates. In fact, the new EPG has always had some missing thumbnails for me.
Last night at 5:30 pm, there were only 15 thumbnails out of the possible 30 channels that I have programmed on the tuner. Several of these were local programming (news, etc.) but it included shows like Modern Family; Mike & Molly; Criminal Minds; Forensic Files; and Stargate SG1, none of which should present problems from available metadata.
On the one hand, this is just a cosmetic issue because the program information correct and the DVR and Live TV is working fine otherwise. But on the other hand we all know it doesn’t have to be this way, because it was working fine before with Gracenote.
I’ve also searched for tentative responses on other threads and I haven’t found any. I reported the 5:30 example along with some other EPG corrections just in case that path might produce a response.
If anyone does see a response in another thread, please post here. Thank you.
Edit: After posting this, I refreshed the guide and took a look at the current time slot programming. It was down to 6 thumbnails out of a possible 30. 2:30 central time, Madison Wisconsin OTA.
