So 2 questions on the avengers universe marvel movies… well 1 that can be applied to many other movies.
1st question… marvel movie one shots… is there a way to get these on plex? I’m not sure if I should rip em from the blurays or if I can get them to play with the extra features somehow… in general does anyone have any experience with these?
2nd question… this applies to marvel movies somewhat and more so any trilogy and such… when I watch a tv series on plex I get an arrow on the top that allows me to move directly to the next episode. Is there a way to get plex to recognize sequential movies? Say the dark knight trilogy, LotR, or even as I said marvel movies… which would be tricky I suppose since you have for instance captain america 1,2,3 or Iron man 1,2,3 but the correct viewing order is to watch other movies in between them for instance avengers 1 comes sometime after iron man 1 but before iron man 3

anyway is there a solution for these things?
I have several of the One Shots, ripped and added as an actual movie. For example, I have the One shot, Agent Cater, added as a movie with file and folder names as “Agent Carter (2013)”
Example file structure:
Movies
… … Agent Carter (2013)
… … … Agent Carter (2013).mp4
Alternatively, they could be added as a local extra, using the naming guidelines here: https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220677-Local-Media-Assets-Movies
but when added as an extra you will not get any metadata downloaded for it, and you will only be able to access it through the associated movie. So in the case of Agent Carter, you would only be able to access it as an extra for the movie Iron Man 3.
for #2 filter them by studio or make a collection tag and sort by release date for of all of them then you can just hit play and it will play them all in order or you can make a smart playlist based on that filter/sort which will automatically add the new ones which match the filter
if you put them in a collection and they will also all be added to the preplay as a collection in release order and you can select the next one there as well
I suppose you could do the one shots as movies like @leelynds says above and edit the release dates so they end up in the right place in a collection too but i don’t have any of those one shots myself
