Matching still an issue

I’m still unable to match anything in my plex after the update. I’ve tried the plex dance already. Spent the last two hours googling and nothing. Any ideas?

Naming? File naming and embedded metadata are the two most common issues that lead to matching problems.

For the latter go into the agent settings for every agent and move “Local media assets” below everything else.

Naming convention is part of the plex dance.

If I unmatch something that was matched, I can’t even rematch it.

I have Local media assets at the bottom already.

Even if I didn’t, i can’t even manually match movies or shows with TVdb or movie database. Everything comes back bad.

Bad how exactly?

“No matches were found using this agent.”

That’s what I get back for every show and movie, across every agent.

I’m to the point where I’ve blown out my libraries completely and started them over with no luck.

That sounds like something wrong with the agents them selves on your machine. if you look at the agent logs is there any info in them? Check the dates/times of the logs to see if the agents re even running.

The IMDB log com.plexapp.agents.imdb.log is the one for Plex Movie. and com.plexapp.agents.themoviedb.log for themoviedb

I went ahead and tried to do a fresh reinstall before you replied, now I can’t even add libraries. Every time I try to fix one thing, I break another. :confused:

There’s no language in the drop down and it just says my changes can’t be saved.

What OS are you on? Window, Mac, some linux?

Did you delete the PMS folder in appdata before you did the reinstall? If that is still there I would move it some place so a new one in created when the server launches.

It is in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\

Are there any logs still? (they are in same folder)

I deleted before hand. Used this link https://support.plex.tv/articles/201198426-restart-plex-media-server-setup-from-scratch/

Only logs now are plex media server, plex tuner service and plex update service, installer log folder and plugin logs folder.

OK can you grab the current logs to see why fresh install went bad

I understand your frustration but in all honesty, you could still be wrong in the name.

Name and year were used when performing a manual search? What was the name and year you used?
