Media Info Blank

Server Version#: 1.41.1.9057
Player Version#:4.138.0

I have found a file (there may be more) that is not loading the Media Info. The information appears in the XML file, but it fails to appear under the Get Info menu.

Would you mind sharing some more details on what you see / miss, maybe a screenshot?

Elf-XML.txt (26.6 KB)
Since I posted originally, I removed the file from my Plex storage, rescanned, confirmed the movie was gone, copied it back in, rescanned, confirmed it was found/matched, and have the same results. It looks like only two movies in my library currently share this issue.

This XML file shows that Plex has lots of metadata for this movie – but barely any media information (just the file path and size).

<Media id="246796" hasVoiceActivity="0">
<Part accessible="1" exists="1" id="275023" key="/library/parts/275023/1729449157/file.mp4" file="Z:\Plex\Movies\An Elf's Story - The Elf on the Shelf (2010).mp4" size="514961408"/>
</Media>

This could happen if the file isn’t a media file at all (you’ll see this if you just rename a txt-file as mp4 → given the file is approx. 500 MB, that’s rather unlikely) or the container itself is corrupted, causing Plex to fail determining any media details.

I tried to play the file, and it won’t play anymore. I think you’re correct, the file is corrupted in some way. I will try to recreate the file from scratch. I will check on this for the other file as well.

Thanks!
