Since yesterday, when adding new files, Plex doesn’t seem to be able detect media data properly. Scanning the libraries finds the new files and adds them as usual but their Media Info box is empty their detailed page shows “none” as available streams even though there are multiple audio channels and in some cases subtitles and chapters. I tried doing the “Plex Dance” a couple of times to no avail. At one point I thought something external was messing things up as I myself added subtitles/alternative audio using MKVToolnix which I’ve been doing for years. Because of that I tried to remove and re-add a file that was already on the server from before and had its data correctly detected - re-scanning it did the same thing to it - it stripped it from all the data it had detected for it last time.
The files are good. All of them play just fine using external applications. 3rd party MediaInfo apps detect everything just fine. This is certainly not a problem of the files themselves. It’s either an issue of Plex or a combination of both things.
Has someone experienced something like this and what could be done to fix it?
EDIT: Oh yeah, analyzing and refreshing metadata also does nothing.
EDIT 2: Forgot to add some setup data:
PMS version is 1.40.5.8921 (smb)
Plex version is 10.21.0.1527
Shield is on 9.1.0 (33.2.0.125)
All libraries look like this. They still work for stuff that have been added previously but nothing new gets proper detection.
What could be causing this? Could it be some sort of database corruption? Is there something I can try to do to fix it? What would be the last resort solution so the database is created from scratch?
EDIT: I can’t even add new libraries - the window looks the same as the picture and nothing in there is editable or clickable.
@dbirch I’m using a browser on a PC running on the same network as the shield (the pc has its own plex so I just open it from there and edit shield stuff).
@drzoidberg33 That sounds promising. I’m looking forward to it.
The update just went through and it appears it has fixed the issue - all data populated immediately after refreshing metadata or new scans. Libraries can once again be created and edited.
