Media Not Showing on Plex from the New WD My Cloud Home

I am upgrading from a WD My Cloud and have just received the WD My Cloud Home this morning. Setup all very straight forward. Added the PLEX app to the WD My Cloud Home App which created the folder directories automatically for “Shared Home Videos, Shared Movies etc.” I then moved some movie files which are mainly .MP4 to the Shared Home Videos directory within WD My Cloud Home. PLEX on the desktop / web interface and my TV (LG Smart TV) are both showing the connection to my WD My Cloud Home with the folder directories as automatically setup. However, all folders are showing that there’s no content on this server even though I know there at least 4 movie files added. Not sure what the issue is… Anyone else having same issue?

maybe your libraries are not set to be checked automatically; Plex Web UI, Settings -> Server Settings -> Library: there is the checkbox for automatic check in the first line. If this is not enabled, the Plex will do at least an hourly check for updated content.

Or click at the three dots on the right your indivudal library and “scan librray files” which is manual scan.

Hi Joerg, thanks ! that seems to have done the trick - but onto the next issue - my video files are very choppy, cannot seem to play all the way through without stopping repeatedly for buffering! Pretty sure my network is fine…

Hello. I am also experiencing this problem. When select “all” of a particular library it is showing no content. However, upon selecting recently added. All of the content is there. It seems that choosing “All” is the crux. Did you manage to fix this?

turn your mycloud device off and turn it on again… it works for me

I can’t get my stupid PMS to even find the media that is on my WD home drive. Very irritating
