Media server install on loop! I have media server installed, but PLEX keep asking to install! HELP

Server Version#:1.26.0.5715-8cf78dab3

I always used plex, for years now… but today i tried to login and i wasn’t able i reset the password, but still wasn’t able to access, so i tried to enter with my apple account sign in, i entered and created a new account. Now i have this new account and im not able to access my media files.

When i tried to add a new library the Plex just says to instal Plex media Server, but its installed… so i keep going on this loop that i install once again and it keeps asking to install…

I don’t know what to do more… PLEASE HELP ME!!!

In order to complete the setup you need to open your Plex Media Server through its local IP.
If you’re on the machine… open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web in your browser. If you’re on a different machine inside your home network, use http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web instead. This will bring up a wizard/dialog where you can name your server and link it to your Plex account (as well as creating your first libraries).

Once you “claimed” your server (=linked it to your Plex Media Account), you’ll also be able to access it from other Plex apps or via http://app.plex.tv/desktop.

All, I am in the same loop, having done something dumb:

Running Plex in a container on OpenMediaVault (Portainer). When I saw the password compromised notification, I went to change my password and remove access to authorized devices so they would all have to log back in.

My “oops” was I removed everything, including plex media server from the authorized devices list. Now my http://localIP:32400/web server as well as my http://plex.tv/web tell me to install the media server when I click on media. I have reinstalled Plex container, moved out (backed it up) my /config directory, but I am still stuck in the loop. I have no option to claim nor unclaim any server, neither on my local IP nor at plex.tv.

I do have backups, but don’t know what to restore. I tried restoring my /config directory from three days ago, then reinstalling the container, but no luck. Ideas?

Solved. I didn’t need to restore, just do the reclaim via information and script found at this link: Server credential reset utility for Linux-based platforms

Thank you, @ChuckPa :+1:
