for 2 days now anything ive added (movies or shows) will not download metadata or poster/art
instead cpu spikes stays at 100% useage until restarted. i have tried every scanner tried fixing 1 by 1 it starts but never finishes.
tried updating to newest version of plex server (1.8) yet nothing seems to resolve this issue
before asked everything is titled as required by plex and tracking(name year ext) (name SxxExx title ext)
Tried deleting cache restarting a billion times nothing changes
this is the 3rd time in the last 4 months ive had this happen and had to reinstall completely.
reinstalling is no longer an option as im tired of having to re mark 1000s of episodes and movies watched (which is a crap shoot in itself, tends to crash it and have to wipe database cause of it) and the people relying on me having to do the same.
Kinda at my wits end as to the problem trying to find a reliable answer in search is no picnic but ive tried all i can find and think of to resolve this
any ideas ?
heres logs from lats attempt after this post
Not following the naming guide TO THE LETTER for TV Shows is foolish.
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200220687-Naming-Series-Season-Based-TV-Shows
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73545&lid=7 - Battlestar Galactica (2003)
(when in doubt - check the name at TVDB)
Won’t Work:
(non-compliancy breeds failure)
H:\Shared Drive\TV-Finished
…Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009)\ <— non-compliant Show Name - non-compliant directory structure
…Battlestar.Galactica.S03E12.Rapture(2).480p.BluRay.x264-Sticky83.mkv <— non-compliant file name
Will Work:
H:\Shared Drive\TV-Finished\ <— we’ll assume that’s your TV Show Library
…Battlestar Galactica (2003)\ Show Name MUST be as it appears at TVDB
…Season 03\ <---- required Season folder
…Battlestar.Galactica - S03E12 - Rapture(2).mkv <— compliant file name
…Battlestar.Galactica - S03E13.mkv <— compliant file name
The Plex Dance® may be required to write a new bundle with non-bogus info in it:
- remove show/movie from library
- update library
- empty trash
- clean bundles
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200392106-Library-Actions <— update library, empty trash, clean bundles
- bring names and structures into compliance/ or the ultimate bundle reboot operation

is not the issue cause after 3 hours that is the one directory that did update and found everything correctly.the other 10 shows and 130 movies i added since on the other have not so much. the server is finding them and linkning them correctly the logs say skipping folder after its done initial scan and found them
its finding the correct information and downloading its just not all showing up
basiclly whats happening now is it is taking anywhere from 3 to 24 hours to eventually show all info and art for just 1 show or movie. and 2 days ago it was only taking seconds because logs saying skipping but seems to be in background going slower then anything lol
so just wanted to inform that i believe i have resolved this situation on my own
after hours of searches of similar issues and trying dozens of differant things.
turns out IPv6 was timing out after disabling ipv6 in router it immediately starting capturing data and has been finding everything so far without issue.
