Hello,

I would really appreciate some help with my specific issue as I lost countless hours trying to figure it out, but to no avail.

In short, the issue I have is for a TV Show for witch Plex pulls metadata and artwork from The Movie DB even though the Library is specifically configured to use the TVDB DVD ordering.

I will go into more details below:
The show is a Romanian TV show and is present both on The Movie DB and The TVDB. The issue is people are not agreeing in the Season ordering. For example, the community version is at season 27, but the TV Station official streaming platform is at season 26 for the seame episodes.

I want to organise my library based on the official streaming platform and use my own poster, background and thumbnails I generated for each episode.

Because the show has over 700 episodes, I decided to create a Library dedicated to this show so the settings will not affect the other shows I have.

I started by organising the files as recommended. One thing to mention is that the name of the episodes are in Romanian and some of the names contain diacritics like ă â î ș ț.
The video files are mkv format and the thumbnails have the same name and have png extensions.
Each season folder has a SeasonXX.jpg file to be used as poster.

After this I configured the plex agents to use the local media assets with priority over the others and did the Plex Dance, but it was miss and hit. For some seasons the metadata was correct while for others the metadata was not, especially the thumbnails. They were pulled from The Movie DB instead of using the local ones and the TVDB did not have any thumbnails at that time.

The next step was to create an account on the TVDB and did some cleaning of the titles and thumbnails and also created the DVD track to match my library, hoping that PLEX will use the information there. (It took me several weeks since nothing is automated and I had to manually write the correct titles and upload the artwork).

After all this I did again the Plex Dance, but to no avail. I still have mixed metadata instead of local or the TVDB DVD order. I still see thumbnails and names from The Movie DB.

The last thing I tried was to create a .plexmatch file for each season, but again same result.

At this point I am considering trying a plex plugin for local metadata, but I have hopes I can achieve my goal without it.

Extra informations:
Library is set to use Romanian as local language
Files are stored on a NAS connected over 1Gbps LAN
Folder is connected via SMB to my mac mini M1
The Series size is around 1.2 TB
Titles contain diacritics as described above.

Thank you in advance.
Alex
