I am having trouble getting Plex to correctly download some metadata for Man Vs Wild. I have named all my files following the air order of the TVDB. It seems the Plex TV Series Agent has defaulted to The MovieDB order, which has resulted in some discrepancies.
I tried to change the show episode ordering by going to Man vs. Wild > Edit > Advanced > Episode ordering and changing that to TheTVDB (Aired). Then I refreshed the metadata, but it is still downloading the metadata for the ordering of The MovieDB.
I also tried to match directly with the TVDB id, same issue.
When I selected Absolute ordering (just to see what would happen), no metadata was downloaded and everything just said Episode 1, 2, etc. This is as expected.
Here are the problematic episodes:
S01E04 - Per TVDB this is European Alps, but Plex is marking as Alaskan Mountain Range.
S01E08 - Per TVDB this is Alaskan Mountain Range, but Plex is marking as European Alps.
Basically they have been swapped.
Now, I could just manually fix these since all the episodes line up correctly. But why isn’t it downloading the metadata from TVDB when I select it for the episode airing? It seems like it’s just ignored.
FWIW, Wikipedia also has the same episode ordering as TVDB.
My files are named like: /data/Video/Sorted/TV Shows/Man vs. Wild/Season 1/Man vs. Wild - S01E04 - European Alps WEBDL-480p.mp4.
Anything else to try other than manually swapping the metadata of these two episodes?
