Metadata for TV series will not be downloaded, no matter what(?)

Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing some very strange behaviour from my PMS (running on a Synology DS218+). It will not display any metadata for season 1 of “Marvel’s Runaways”, no matter which client.
To get the usual culprits out of the way :slight_smile: :

  • Yes, the episodes and directories are properly named.
  • I’ve done the “Plex Dance” several times, every time trying naming the files differently, but always to specifications.
  • I’ve compared directory listings of the series with a friend who’s running his PMS on a Mac Mini and has none of these problems, but can’t see any difference except for the fact that he has kept the release filenames.

Server version is 1.10.1.4602.

Dunno if it’s relevant: for fun I have pointed a Kodi installation at the same path and it has found the metadata on TheTVDB without any problems.

I have checked similar posts on the forums and tried suggestions listed there to no avail, maybe I have missed something?

Any ideas? If there’s more info I can provide, please let me know.

I just noticed how the correct series poster was still downloaded, despite the missing series info metadata.

So I looked into the log file for the “TheTVDB”-agent and found out that there seems to be a problem between the agent and the “TheTVDB”-database. If I read this correctly, the agents looks for a “TheTVDB”-ID that does not exist (see attached log excerpt).

Weird. How do I solve this?

PROBLEM SOLVED, I’m guessing it’s a bug in PMS?

Tried the “fix match” option but it only revealed one entry in the search results:

On a whim, I entered the year under “search options”, which resulted in A SECOND entry for “Runaways” being revealed in the results:

Clicking on the first entry in the new results led to the same old problem of no metadata being downloaded. Choosing the second prompted PMS to dl the correct metadata for the series.

Problem solved, but still, weird.
