I have problem getting metadata from movies that are listed as TV movies or mini-series. Like “if tomorrow comes” “brotherhood of the rose” “The Langoliers” etc.
I know the problem is that IMDB see these as mini-series. But is there a way to go around this problem. Copying the metadata and add it somehow? There are alot of smart users on Plex, havent someone made a solution to this problem?
Thanks for the answer, but only one out of ten worked this way.
So there is nothing to do if TNDB and IMDB have listed it as a TV show? Isnt there anyone who made a plugin or anything to fix this?? I cant have movies in my TV show app
I dont have to match. I can put in the metadata by myself, but arent able to add actors, otherwise i could go that way instead. It must be some way to fix this, Plex is perfect in all ways and this seems like a very easy thing to fix??
What’s wrong with listing a mini-series / tv movie that originally aired as serial in a tv-show library?
You can include cast members to the embedded metadata of a file an Plex will pick that up from a mp4/m4v/mov file. Though if you solely rely on local/embedded metadata, Plex will treat cast members as separate entities vs. the same person listed in an “online matched” movie/show.
I dont understand why anyone would like to have a 3h long movie listed as a tv show. The problem is that they are seperated so if I search for ex Tom Berenger movies, then i wont find “If tommorow comes” because its listed as a tv show. Strange I am the only one who see this as a big problem.
I could fix the problem if i could add actors, but like you said, it doesnt work for some reason. I can add writers, director, date etc, but to add actors i must create a new actor, not add a actor from the list.
I thought there were someone smart out there who had fixed these issues. Plex is so smart in every other ways and everything is almost perfect.
I have to ask about two other issues. When i search for a thriller/comedy i have to check both thriller and comedy, but then every trhillers AND comedys shows, not Thriller/comedy. Is there any fix for this?
And lately it comes up you have to login to see subtitles on opencource. Login where. I am logged in on Plex so i dont know what to do to see the subtitles
You could use an advanced filter to look for items that meet both criteria.
Sounds like you might be using a third-party plug-in with your server that requires a separate login with a subtitle site (maybe from a legacy library)
