For some of my TV Shows I noticed that some of my shows don’t have images. For either the Cover or the Episodes, What I’m after is to have the synopsis of each episode and the cover art with the episode title.
What I’m using to get the names of the files is Filebot using the TV Database that it uses. So I assume that its all correct, Although sometimes I think that the TV Database is out of date, That’s just me. I’m currently using Filebot 4.7 using the {Plex} format for episodes.
The series that are missing its Cover art, Episode Art and Episode Synopsis are, Lucifer, Lie to Me and Marvels Daredevil.
I’m using the built in default scanner that Plex uses for its TV Shows category.
Is there another scanner and metadata agent that I should use for TV Shows?
There might be issues with a couple of things if your files are remotely stored: 1) If you are using a mapped network drive designation, try using UNC instead (i.e., on Windows, instead of X:\TV Shows... use \\<servername>\TV Shows...); and, 2) the accented and non-english characters (e.g., Apéritif) in the filenames can impact scanning with certain platforms.
And, ofc, you can always try doing a Plex Dance with the problematic files to ensure the scanner takes a fresh whack at them…
But your logs files will provide you with better insight.
Since some previous versions i am having a problem on my metadata. My PLEX is set in PT-BR (Brazilian) and most of the times i update my library i am forced to edit the name o the movie because it downloads the content in PT-PT (Portugal). In Past this problem do not exist. The funny thing is that some movies that i had the info in PT-BR now only show in English!? Does not matter which engine i use (TheMovie Database or FreeBase) i am unable to correct that.
After this latest update (1.0.1.2396) i am having another metadata issue… Now with TV Shows! it does not download the content (same as images above). This happen with some shows and does not matter how i named the series still not finding the right content. So now i have metadata issues in movies and TV Series The series are Continnun and Marco Polo. I tried everything but i was unable to download the right content. I already check the TVDB site but even after check if those series are listed there and naming as PLEX need to be done i got nothing.
For now, the only solution for my problem was uninstall everything and clean all the files on my HD then downgrade to version (0.9.16.4). I will keep that way. I Still have the problem maning movies in PT-BR but the version works fine with TVDB and runs on ATV4 also has the capability to convert videos. That´s what i recommend.
I have same issue with a newly added serier into my library since 1.0.
In swedish the following serier cant be found, but they are available if I check thetvdb.com, but the scanner cant find info to “Arga Restuarangen” and “Saltön”.
I also try match them manual but they wont find a match. I have also checked thetvdb.plexapp.com, and they exist there too.
I have the same issue (Plex Pass, latest server version). For TV shows, all metadata is fetched correctly except of covers, they are just not loading. I’ve checked TheTVDB and they have covers available. Already deleted the metadata agent caches and tried again but nothing. Any ideas?
There’s an issue with plex tvdb and using a different language than English. The dev’s are aware and will investigate. I have no more info than that. Sorry for the trouble this is causing you all.
I’m having the same issue as well, with all of the 1.0 versions, with a clean install on linux. I had to go all the way back to 0.9.17.3.2239-fe07491 and my shows are all showing up. It must have something to do with the Plex Movie agent or whatever it’s called. Then if I upgrade to the newest version everything is fine because it uses the same metadata. I hope this is fixed in 1.0 soon.
Do also note that tvdb, the actual external site where Plex gets all data from, currently has a bug on their hand too. That bug was obscured by Plex own bugs before and is now currently being handled by tvdb. The geist of it was, as I recall, that tvdb prev reported an actual error to Plex when the metadata was empty for your language (it was here Plex bug lie, we didn’t fallback correctly), now tvdb just reports “empty” which breaks Plex logic. This will be handled soon. In the meantime, while thats being handled I’m sure that the dev’s would like to see your logs after a failed attempt to download metadata.
Thanks @Peter_W logs already supplied and many hours of testing and trialing complete. End result, i believe it is out of my control and i therefore have to wait for a resolution.
