I just moved all my pictures/videos to a new laptop and reinstalled Plex. After the initial scan a bunch of my home movies are tagged with metadata from actual movies so that the wrong title is associated with the mp4 clips along with a poster of that movie instead of a screenshot from the actual content which is how the majority of my home videos are represented. How do I fix this?
Fix match doesn’t work because it only looks to match to other public content.
You must use the “Other Videos” type when creating the library for home movies.
-can you clarify what you mean? where is this setting?
-I realize I can go into each home movie and select “unmatch” to revert to the original title and tile
I understand now - don’t add the folder under Movies, add under Other Videos
When you create a new library, you can select from a number of library types, such as movies, tv shows and music. The other option in that dialog is Other Video.
An Other Video library doesn’t match your media and doesn’t mess with your embedded or manually edited metadata.
