Missing Albums

I’ve noticed a few albums that are missing in Plex, but exist through Tidal apps. Happens through PC, Android, and web. I’ve posted about this previously, and see a few other posts about it. I’m not even sure if this is a Plex problem or a Tidal problem. I haven’t seen a lot of responses in previous threads. Is it helpful to post the missing content here? Should I be emailing Tidal?

According to responses from Plex, certain content may not be available to third party software for several different reasons, but most likely because of licensing issues.

It seems silly to me that TIDAL would have an API that allows unplayable content to show, as, clearly, there are examples of tracks or albums that are not visible in Plex at all.

I did reach out to TIDAL support, but they just said it’s Plex’s problem to resolve. I’m not sure if my question was fully understood, however.

It looks like there were a few threads over on the Roon forums about related issues from last year. Here is a response from the Roon Labs CTO from January of last year:

I’m not sure if these issues are the same. If so, I’m not sure if they’re being caused by the same issue, or if that was ever finally resolved.

The only reason I ever subscribed to TIDAL was to take advantage of the Plex integration. I read through most of the support articles before subscribing, and I don’t remember coming across anything that warned random content would be unavailable in Plex and that there was no way to let anyone know which content that may be. :upside_down_face:

Thanks for the info. I also switched to Tidal for the Plex integration. If some of the content isn’t going to be available through 3rd party partners, that seems like something that should be communicated better. In reality, the vast majority of albums are there. I run into this problem so seldomly, that’s why I thought it might be a bug. I would have guessed licensing issues would affect a lot more albums.
