This started happening a few days ago after Plex was updated on my nVidia Shield.
Despite refreshing guide data over and over again (under Manage, Live TV & DVR, Refresh Guide), I do not get guide data that are over 24 hours. Strangely enough, if I perform a search that I know the program is on the day after tomorrow, I can successfully find it. Yet, if I go to that day in the Guide, there is no guide data. I even enabled Enhanced Guide as I thought that would force it to download more information but that didn’t seem to make any difference.
Secondly, while having All Episodes recording scheduled, the shows did not record. I am sure that I checked the Recording grid earlier today that the shows were there, but so far, it missed two scheduled recordings today already.
I am not sure if the latest update for Plex Server in the Google Play Store wrecked the Live TV & DVR functions or not, as I am still a newbie with this nVidia Shield unit. However, I have been a Plex Server user for a while now.
Additionally, when I force an EPG scan, the scan only goes to like 32% and dies. I don’t even get a full day’s worth of guide data. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that this is scraped from the OTA tuner. I’m pretty upset; I pay for this service pretty much only for the benefit of the guide data. Without the guide data, the DVR is basically useless. Every show that Plex skips ends up costing me money when I go to purchase it on Amazon. This is costing me real money.
There was an issue giving rise to JSON Parse Error where the response for the guide refresh contained error 403 Forbidden. This should be fixed now.
Additionally Plex Media Server beta 1.14.0.5465 has retries for failed requests to fetch the guide - so that in itself would have helped whilst the issue was there
Please do manual update to the guide and once that completes ok, then incremental updates would ensure the guide remains up to date
If problems persist, please provide fresh logs from the server with debug logging enabled beforehand and also a zip of the Diagnostics directory which is within the Plex Media Server data area
