Missing guide data

Same problems as others - wonder where Plex people are on this thread?

Same issue here.

I thought they changed over to a new guide listing to fix things.
Seems worse.

Plex arent anywhere on this post as of yet. I’ve tagged Elan, the CTO so hopefully it should get noticed…

I dont think its down to the guide, the info is there if you view under All Channels. It would appear to be an issue that has been introduced in the last few releases (Beta Channel) from what I can tell. I can only recall seeing this issue in the last week or so.

Wow, I havent had my plex pass all that long. I started in December and I was trying to choose between this and some other options. I read about support not always being great but this seems crazy to me. It has almost been a week since the first post and there has been no response at all from anyone at Plex. Is this normal?

When I look at Priority recordings, it says no upcoming episodes. When I go into the guide it shows ā€œnewā€ shows and says recording scheduled, but nothing records.

OTA in Austin TX.

I have the same issue and now it’s really becoming a problem now that my scheduled recording have run out. Plex wtf where is your support???

At least when the commercial skipping broke we could still recored our shows.

I just read on another thread if you change your setting to Prefer HD instead of HD only the recording show up in scheduled recording. I just tested this and it works. At least I can stop missing recordings now.

Ok this just gets weirder. So all of my guide data shows up with the new HTPC client that Plex dropped a beta for in the forum. https://forums.plex.tv/t/introducing-plex-htpc/703075

I had a recording fail last night when it was set to prefer hd but both my recordings tonight seem to be working with those settings. I did update my server last night after the failed recording so maybe that helped. I don’t know but I’m hoping the recordings keep working even without the guide being 100%

I’m having less and less recordings being recorded.

Hey Plex people, where are you?

Same issue here. I haven’t seen any failures as yet (although I’ve seen failures go missing before as if it never happened) but everything set up to record is now recording from the SD channel rather than HD.

I started to get ghost recordings. The scheduled recording is not showing up in DVR schedule, but is shown on the EPG on a wrong channel despite the recording being limited to a single HD channel.

this isnt ghosting… it happens whenever you do series record and the programme is on multiple channels. it is just showing you that that programme is series linked for recording. It doesnt mean that it’s actually going to record that instance of that programme.
I get that regularly with stuff like formula one. shows it recording every instance of it in guide including all the repeats on Sky Sports F1, Sky Sports F1 HD and also include Formula One on Channel 4 when it’s live on there! . only ever records from Sky Sports F1 HD though as that’s what it is restricted to.

Well, then it’s not a very good ā€˜feature’ as it gives false positives even when the recording is restricted to a certain channel. The record icons should only be shown on the programmes which will actually be recorded, as all of these settings can be configured in the recording (time, channel, HD, new/old). It’s not good for usability.

Last night I had new Masterchef on record, and there was 2 episodes (according to the EPG) back to back, and only the first one was recorded, probably due to missing HD channels bug.

There also should be option to rearrange this list of channels to have favourite channels by default on top. Now I have to scroll to 101 to get to HD channels on ATV. I had this feature already 15 years ago on my cable box.

s i think it needs more functionality such as categories and favourites

Ever since upgrading server to Version 1.22.1.4228 the guide does not show most of the channels as HD (so if you select HD channels only, you get unknown airing). As long as DVR is set to ā€œPrefer HDā€ as tsps1981 stated it will record and the recordings are in HD.
The only pain is going thru the guide with all the other channels being displayed since I have not deleted them from my channel lineup.
I updated my guide and that did nothing. I am assuming they will fix the issue in a update soon. I believe it is a server sw issue and not a guide issue.
This is on a Synology NAS running is Southern Calif, USA

Just updated PMS to the latest version. Updated system info below…

Still having the same issue of ā€œUnknown Airingā€ when ā€œHD Channels Onlyā€ is selected. It does not seem to affect the guide if ā€œAll Channelsā€ is selected.

I also have not missed any recordings as others have mentioned. My current DVR setting for resolution is ā€œPrefer HDā€.

Same issue - I have guide data on SD but nothing on HD.
