Here’s the issues. Since the server updated to 4707, the Guide has been completely screwed up. It’s not displaying the correct guide to match the “Channel Matching” of the tuner. I have a lot of channels turned off on the tuners. When i download the guide, the channel matching shows me everything correctly, but the Guide is showing a random list of channels that are not matched.
Here is the beginning of the Channel Matching list:
I can’t tune to any of those because they are not enabled. It does show 802-813, which I can tune to because they enabled, but then jumps to 1048 and skips a majority of other stations.
I have tried deleting the DVR and reinitializing the tuners, but it’s not solving the issue.
I’m also having the same/similar issues. I have an HDHR Prime. 1) Channels which are not even detected by the tuner are showing up in the guide. 2) Channels I have disabled in DVR settings (both on the HDHR itself, and in Plex) are showing up on the guide.
I rolled back to 1.23.2.4656 to get it working again. I did have to delete the DVR and reinitialize it.
I should also mention that the upgraded version also locked my tuners. I have 9 tuner and over half of them were locked by Plex even though I wasn’t using them.
Having the same issue here for about two weeks now, and I guess the past few server versions (currently on 1.23.4.4712).
I have HDHomeRun with a Comcast CableCard. Comcast’s listings have the SD channels numbered 0-7xx, the corresponding HD channels numbered 8xx-9xx, then has all of the SD and HD channels re-listed and grouped by topic numbered 10xx-14xx. I initially had my HDHomeRun set to block all of the channels numbered 1-9xx, but for whatever reason Plex stopped showing them properly in the guide. I’ve since gone back to my HDHomeRun and blocked out all the 10xx-14xx channels and unblocked the lower number channels and that seems to let it build the guide somewhat properly, but is not a fix, per-se.
I can confirm similar behavior with my HDHR prime source, and both my plex servers. (Both synology) Guide - 07724
Doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason, I get a different EPG after removing/readding the tuner source 5 different times. Only happened after latest update to 1.23.3.4707.
Yep I reported 16 days ago and no response from @cire12 of if this is being worked on or not, so we have to take him ignoring us as “he is working on it” I guess. Rolling back is the only fix:(.
I can confirm that rolling back to Version 1.23.2.4656 (from 1.23.3.4707) and reinitializing the tuner also worked for me. I also have Comcast service with an HDHomeRun Prime and cable card, as others with the problem have pointed out. The problem only shows up after the EPG is downloaded (the longest part of this process, of course), where I noticed that the “Guide Channels” only listed 7 matches for the 85 channels I had enabled.
It also appeared to record scheduled shows, but then hung at 100% complete, presumably because nothing was actually recorded. I didn’t notice anything useful in the logs, either – I just happened to make the connection when I got a useful error (something like “could not tune channel”) when I tried to play live TV from the web interface.
Since someone else reported that the “tuner status” showed too many tuners as in use – I think that the UI is just failing to be updated when an error occurs. When I looked at the tuner’s web interface, none were locked, and restarting plex “fixed” the UI display issue.
Hi @DaveBinM can you do me a favor and see if this is being looked into please? Just looking for it to be acknowledged:). All these topics below have the same issue included in this one. Thank you!!
Hi @janoskk since this is a server issue can you let us know if this is being looked into since we haven’t heard from Dave or cire12. Just looking for acknowledgement, Thank you !
Hi @BigWheel can you check for us and see if they’re working on this. I think Dave is too busy to respond(6 days), janoskk may not work on this kind of stuff (3 days) and cire12 never responds (21 days). Thank you!
I’m hoping everyone gets tagged in the other threads as well but this is being looked into now internally by @DaveBinM with no eta. But we now know it’s being worked on so we just have to be patient!
@mit3y Yw, Me and another member are explaining to Dave exactly what’s going on and then we’re trying to see if we’re going to continue in this thread or another one, but most likely this one. I’ll update you as soon as I know.
Temporary solution that I’ve come up with besides rolling back the server is going to your hdhomerun page and removing all standard definition channels. Then do a rescan in plex first (which is important), then update to the latest server. So far no crazy problems. I still have one or two random channels that show up in the wrong spot that won’t tune but nothing compared to what it was before. Yes I lost all my Spanish channels that I pay for and I also lost some of my movie channels that are still in standard definition but it’s a temporary solution until Plex fixes this problem.
The fix USED to be, note the channel number that the channel ends up in the guide, usually the SD feed in the low 100s, then go to your selected channel with the 4 digit channel number and map it to the channel plex insists it is on, and you could view the channel again.
Problem is, now the channel mapping list omits the channel numbers entirely, so if you scroll the list you will see the problem channels in there at least 3 times, but no idea what channel number it is mapping to. If you guess right, the channel will work again, although in the wrong place on the EPG, if you choose wrong, “Cannot tune channel no parts”
I’m glad someone at plex has acknowledged that its an issue…it only took about 5 threads of people complaining with no responses to do so.
