Missing Important Files Needed After Installation for Plex Media Server to Work

Server Version#: 1.43.3.10896-cb3ebc72d
Player Version#: 4.16

I have been having trouble connecting to Plex Media Server - Apparently when it downloads not all of the necessary files needed are being installed. This is the latest version. PlexMediaServer-1.43.3.10896-cb3ebc72d-x86_64.

I have only used Plex in the past with this machine. I uninstalled last year and decided to give it another chance. I have spent several days trying to fix this with copilot, and we keep repeating the same procedures over and over. The file web-client is missing a long with several others like Preferences.xml. From what I understand web-client is important for the Plex Media Server to operate. I have uninstalled, downloaded reinstalled, uninstalled, downloaded, reinstalled.

I’d really like to fix this.

Thank you!

that is not used on Windows. In Windows those settings are in the registry.

Do you have any anti Virus software or similar that could cause issues?

These are the files missing after the install. WebClient.bundle

  • Dashboard.bundle
  • Resources.pak
  • index.html
  • client.js
  • locales (not “locale”)
  • plugins
  • web-client
  • dozens of other files. Every install has been the same. None are completely working.

No it’s already been rooted out.
