Server Version#: 1.15.2.793
Player Version#: 3.93.0 (web app chrome)
I’m just building a new PMS dedicated Linux server in a Dell Xeon machine.
Using rclone VFS mapping to GDrive…the view, new scan, and mapped folders are working OK
…last days i added some movie folders:
List item 240p + 360p + 480p + 576p (old movies) =410 movies
List item 720p = 1474 movies
There are a 18 “movies” NOT matched, scrapped or something
what’s happening ??
Enable the ‘Duplicates’ filter to see if several files have been misrecognized as the same movie.
Enable the ‘Collections’ view to see if collections have been created automatically and some movies have been ‘combined’ into a collection and thus removed from the total item count.
(This can happen with mp4/m4v files – even if Plex is not downloading collection info from TMDB. See the link about Collections.)
I haven’t duplicates movies…but collections have been created, because in the next months i’m gonna edit whole to put a nice and correct posters.
Otherwise, i don’t understand this point
Are you saying a movie has been included in a collection (a collection with a single movie) but aren’t visible in a NOT collection view?
And it’s possible, that a few movies in a mp4 format, are missing…but i must to check
Yes, movies in collections will be omitted from the regular library view (and will be missing from the ‘item count’) (only if sorted ‘by title’) if a setting in the library properties says so.
This is also explained in the help article about collections.
There is a global preference for the library which can then be overridden by the same setting in a particular library.
the “viewing” the collections in the EDIT library are unchecked
i can view it clicking the filter “movies / folders / collection”
movies = 1866
collections = 202
folders = 1884
i want to understand this working behaviour before adding the 1080p movies (that are a lot)
and take some control.
… in the present added movies there are 2 less 300 MB only file … but are present in the Title list view // there are 22 movie in mp4 recognized too and // 3 mpg
… the point it’s the “movie-added-collection-not-visible-in-single-view”
EDIT:
i just installed webTools … and there isnt discrepancies between files and metadata …
when you creates a movie library there is an advanced option to see or not the collections “between” the whole movies totals.
… in my case, this options is disabled, to see “only” the movies itself.!
If collections are disabled and you don’t see any duplicates (have you checked?)
then there must be some other reasons why Plex didn’t recognize a movie in every folder.
Check points 3 and 4 in my linked post above.
Verify that all files are named like movies and not like tv shows.
Hello again, good night for me xD
i’m reallu sure i haven’t duplicates…and the same for multi-part movies. i mean, i have not part2, CD2 movies like
otherwise, i have not container format like img or iso. i am a long time plex user, and i know this limitations.
i have not extras folders, nor samples …etc
all my movies are in their folder
… i really sure im following the proposed rules and FAQ … but im getting mad
i reapeat again , the point is the movies included in collections, not visible in the general list tab
i’m planning to rescan avoiding the agent to create collections , but this is a pity, because i lost the collections view like Star wars saga, Aliens saga and such
NEARLY OFFTOPIC
there are plans to scrape poster, fanart, and descriptions for collections, unlike the mini grid poster view for 2 or more movies belonging?
not yet … because i answer you last night very late … and i really dont know how to compare! … are 1484 folders // 1866 movies and 220 collections
… any suggestions?
I don’t have any more suggestions.
I’d now try to find a folder which is not appearing as a movie in the library. Then inspect its contents, particularly the file names and whether the files are playable with other players.
