Plex for Xbox One, PS4, and my Vizio smart TV all have stuttering issues when it comes to playing MKV files. I have to play all of my MKV files on the web app on my computer. I was hoping that the new update for Xbox One would resolve these issues, but it hasn’t for me. Any solutions? Thanks!
Please can you post a PMS log, and we can take a look to see if this is still transcoding for some reason? If not, then the stuttering is likely an issue with your network.

How can we post a log from Xbox One? I’m experiencing these stutters too now. Have tried turning on/off ‘direct play’ and ‘direct stream’ but nothing prevents 720p or 1080p from stuttering.
Plex for XB1 is essentially broken for me after the newest update that added that music feature.
Enable Logging the the xbox one app.
Then look at https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200250417-Plex-Media-Server-Log-Files and upload your Plex Media Server.log here.
Is that the right path listed for the Mac instructions? I get a ‘folder cannot be found’ dialogue.

I am experiencing stuttering and freezing after the update as well
Newest PMS software gives me problems with stuttering and subtitles!
These problems have been solved by reinstalling version 9.11.1 from 2014, so hardware is out of the question after my opinion.
Stuttering is seen as a rolling circle for about 30 seconds very often in the movie, every 1 to 2 minutes.
Subtitle problems is like this message: Player could not render this content. Media might be corrupt or the mediatype is not supported.
Tecnical: Movies in metroska with embedded subtitles, TV set Samsung Smart TV, PMS on a fast Windows PC, movies on a QNap NAS, Gigabit Net.
Anyway, tank you for Plex, it is amazing.
