Looks like it was an antivirus program running on my work computer quarantining that dynamic library file. Doesn’t look like I have the ability to whitelist it myself as it’s all controlled by IT. Guess I’m out of luck.
Thanks for the help

I suspected as much…
i think i found the problem the issues is with Cylance is making this file as a thread. the file is under the content/frameworks/libboost_iostreams.dylib and changes the file to read only and Cylance quarantined the file. this is in the build 1.18.0.1944 version for MacBook
Yup. That’s the AV my company uses (Cylance.) Is there anyway to rebuild that particular file so Cylance doesn’t quarantine it?
Contact the AV company and inform them of a false positive.
Include proof from Virustotal that it’s known clean and well used.
Something like that would be proper.
Ask the same question on the boost forums, “why the positive?”
Thanks Nibbles. I sent an email to Cylance asking them to whitelist this app.
SE56 thanks for sharing your experience with PMS on Mojave and Catalina. Not rubbish, just what I knew so far. I never updated the Mojave etc. to avoid these problems. Now I can do so confidently. Remember we are all here to help, not insult.
Statement from The4Rum:
I believe Plex Media Server for Mac is NOT compatible with Mojave or Catalina.
I ran PMS for 12 Months on Mojave and now Catalina just short of a month without any major concern. So to avoid these so called issues has nothing to do with OS versions.
It was not an insult, it’s a fact, if you have taken a dismissal of your statement as such. I do apologize sincerely. As for helping others we need to make sure we give fact and not personal computer technology ideology references. I hope that makes it clearer, I withdraw the word “Rubbish”.
