Thanks. When I installed it on the NAS, it didn’t work at all but then I found a thread about granting the Plex user rights. It has read/write on the drive.
Thanks. I hate this interface, I am not seeing a permissions tab in File Station, but when I go into Control Panel, then Shared Folder I see it. The Plex use has Custom permissions so maybe that means it’s not R/W top to bottom of that tree.
Good question!
At this point I think I will just buy the complete series and delete these 2 seasons and rip them all.
If I were assigning a complexity score to this task: scanning a tree and extracting metadata, I would say maybe a 2 on a 10 scale? and Plex has been going for how long? I don’t even know what I am using this for if it can’t do this.
Will try the dance maybe tomorrow. Thanks for trying @trumpy81 .
Yeah dude, thanks for capping a problem thread with the #1 engineer response to every report of trouble: ‘works for me!’
As I said in the beginning of this thread, it worked for me too. Then I copied the folder to the NAS and mapped it in there. How on earth does that not work?
I will get the box set. Jesus if I spend anymore time tinkering with this goat rodeo I will have flushed the cost down the drain in lost labor.
That sure looks nice, there are even episode names. Would be really great if it had a link to the imdb page for each episode.
Wow so this is all happening because I am a
? No. I read those documents. And I don’t know what is preventing you from getting this: I had this working. I read the document about filenames, the metadata was there. Then I simply moved the file to the NAS after installing Plex and mapped it?? then added the Plex user permissions as it doesn’t do that automatically anymore.
I know it uses the TVDb, and I was not saying don’t use that. I was just noting that each episode has a page I invariably end up looking up. Google Assistant will bring up both Rotten Tomatoes and imdb if you ask it with a voice command. Give it a try.
