I have recently gone in to my .m4v movie files on my Mac and updated the cover art on each of my movies using MetaZ, which is a great tool for manually adding metadata to a file.
I want Plex to show my new cover art in each of the movie files.
I have tried all the following things after searching this forum:
Rescan the library √
Optimize database √
Clean bundles √
Refresh metadata √
Analyze media √
It is still showing really old jacket movie covers that I had chosen to put on the media a long time ago. The correct movie cover is showing up correctly in iTunes. Even immediately after saving it with a new cover in MetaZ, iTunes refreshes and shows the correct new metadata cover.
Agents are set to: First priority, personal media. Second priority, local media assets. I have cover art in every single local asset, and wish to only use those.
What am I doing wrong? Why does it not refresh and retrieve the new cover art?
I see how this would basically be removing all of the movies and then erasing the database and reinstalling them all again. This will also remove the status of whether a movie has been watched or not, and I don’t want to do that.
Can the makers of Plex simply re-program the “refresh metadata” command to also refresh cover art?
This worked! I had to re-import twice and each time I followed the steps provided above in “Plex incorrectly identifying TV episodes” then more jacket covers showed up each time.
Thank you for the help!
